Work is the main way to earn dollars. The phone Jobs app lists the shifts. Walking into the workplace also starts one.
What sets the paycheck
Since Version 0.12.6, jobs pay a similar amount. The primary factor is total work experience, which caps at level 100. Efficiency and moods change the result. Each job still has its own level track, now capped at 10, with an Excellence Award at the top. That track pays out rewards, Blockbux, and build items. It does not create a separate pay scale.
A documented level-100 estimate is about $79 a minute without Excellent Employee, and about $119 a minute with it, at roughly 70 percent efficiency. Treat that as an estimate, not a quote on your screen. Base pay per task and promotion XP can still differ by job even when pay per minute is described as consistent.
Older rankings that price Pizza Delivery far above every other job, often with a level-50 job cap, describe the system from before this change. Do not plan a career on those per-task tables.
Moods while the shift is running
Every mood affects pay. Two bands are documented clearly:
| Lowest mood | Pay result |
|---|---|
| Above 80 percent | Highest documented band |
| All moods above 50 percent, but the lowest is 80 percent or below | About 85 percent of the high-mood amount |
Lower bands exist, but the exact steps below 50 percent were not consistent enough to copy here. Eat, sleep, wash, and do something fun before a long shift. Standing near a friend slows mood loss. That Close Friends effect dates to Version 0.7.0. One writeup calls it a halved drain and another only says slower. Expect slower drain, and check the icon in game.
The moods display can spend 25 Blockbux on Boost Mood when moods are low. One source limits that button to a gauge under 50 percent.
Excellent Employee and school
The official FAQ says the Excellent Employee game pass increases income from working. Version 0.12.6 documentation also describes a 1.5 times cash factor and doubled promotion speed. Those two statements point the same direction. The pass does not change which job you should learn first.
A June 2026 jobs tutorial reports a school seniority bonus on work pay: freshman 5 percent, sophomore 10 percent, junior 15 percent, and senior 20 percent after finishing Bloxburg High School. That bonus is not restated on the official FAQ. Confirm it on your own school progress before you count on it.
Choose a loop, not a secret wage
Because pay per minute is shared, the practical difference is how cleanly you can repeat the task and how far you travel.
| Job | Workplace | What you repeat |
|---|---|---|
| Delivery Person | Pizza Planet | Pizza, yellow arrow, handoff, return |
| Pizza Baker | Pizza Planet | Build the pizza shown on the station tablet, then restock the crate |
| Cashier | Bloxburg Fresh Food | Scan groceries and bag them |
| Stocker | Bloxburg Fresh Food | Fill empty shelves from stockroom crates |
| Fast Food Worker | Blox Burgers | Take and prepare restaurant orders |
| Seller | Ben's Ice Cream | Two scoops and sometimes a topping at the pier windows |
| Hairdresser | Stylez Hair Studio | Match the requested style and color |
| Janitor | Bloxburg High School | Clean trash and graffiti; the closet starts the shift |
| Teacher | Bloxburg High School | School shift alongside Janitor |
| Fisherman | The Fishing Hut | Cast into the water and reel when the bobber dips |
| Woodcutter | Lovely Lumber | Chop nearby trees, up to 7 swings |
| Miner | Cave at Peak Mountain | Mine blocks with the pickaxe; TNT can chain and this shift can knock you out |
| Mechanic | Mike's Motors | Repair motorbikes at the side of the shop |
| Taxi Driver | Bloxburg Taxi | Drive passengers from the town-center depot |
Individual job pages have the failure states that are actually documented, such as a hair client leaving or a pizza station running out of ingredients.
